Hyundai Gears Up For Sponsorship Of Coronation Street On UTV Ireland

UTV Ireland is delighted to announce that Hyundai Ireland will be the title sponsor of Coronation Street on Ireland’s newest TV channel.

Hyundai will hold exclusive sponsorship rights for Coronation Street in the Republic of Ireland – as Ireland’s favourite soap settles into its new home, on UTV Ireland, when the channel launches on New Year’s Day.

Sarah Hayes, Marketing Director for Hyundai Ireland, said:

“Hyundai Ireland is delighted to be associated with such an iconic household brand as Coronation Street and we look forward to working closely with UTV Ireland. It is extremely exciting to be a part of this new television channel, as it makes its entry into the Irish market. The dynamic energy which UTV Ireland has exhibited is exactly what we feel Hyundai represents, making this partnership an ideal fit.

“The Hyundai brand has experienced tremendous growth in recent years and is now a serious contender in the Irish car market. We are confident that our sponsorship of Coronation Street will only serve to further our opportunities to connect with the public, as the soap’s audience represent a key target audience for the Hyundai product range.”

Starting this Friday, 2nd January, at 7.30pm, Coronation Street will air five times a week, with double episodes on Mondays and Fridays and one episode on Wednesdays. The terms of the sponsorship will include both broadcast and catch up services, with Hyundai also featuring prominently on the Coronation Street page on the UTV Ireland’s website.

Daragh Byrne, Commercial Director with UTV Ireland, said:

“We have been delighted with the market response to UTV Ireland and we are delighted to announce our partnership with Hyundai Ireland for Ireland’s favourite soap, Coronation Street.

“We have put in place very strong commercial opportunities for brands across our range of platforms and UTV Ireland has a very strong programme line-up, a fantastic team – both in front of and behind the camera, newly commissioned home-grown content, and a dynamic commercial offering that can be tailored to suit any business.”

UTV Ireland will begin broadcasting on New Year’s Day, on Sky channel 116, UPC channel 110, SAORVIEW channel 6 and eVision channel 108. For further information on UTV Ireland, go to www.utv.ie or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
